Does Tenerife offer a variety of parks?

Tenerife has water parks, adventure parks, historical parks, cultural parks and animal parks. There is a park to suit every age group and personality and whichever you choose you are assured of a great day out.

Most parks offer day passes which include transport from a convenient pick-up point, entrance fees and return trip. Listed on this page are a few of our favourites.

Siam Park

Siam Park bills itself as ‘One of the most exciting water parks in Europe’ and it certainly has a fantastic selection of seriously thrilling rides!

The ‘Tower of Power’ is probably the most famous ride here….take a deep breath and plummet 28 metres down an almost vertical drop!!!!! A brilliant twist at the ends sees you enter a transparent tube through the shark aquarium!

Or take a ride on The Dragon. Up to 4 people can share a raft on this unusual ride which drops you through a tunnel and then propels you into a funnel at high speeds! Or come face to face with The Giant – a twin cyclone ride that allows up to 2 riders to experience being sucked into a huge bowl! If you are still thirsty for more try out The Jungle Snakes – four intertwined snakes that loop around the park, each one offering a different experience!

Brand new in 2015, Singha is a huge 240 metre ‘water roller coaster’ that shoots you both uphill and downhill at high speeds. You can ride on a raft that takes three at a time on an amazing winding route at speeds up to 18 metres per second!

Other thrilling rides at Siam Park include the Mekong Rapids, a fun experience for the whole family to enjoy; the Naga Racer – chose from one of 6 slides and see who gets to the splash pool first; and of course, the Lazy River. The longest Lazy River in the world, this relaxing ride takes you on a meandering journey through the park, past waterfalls and tropical fish. The perfect way to end your day at the water park.

And little ones will have plenty to do too! Sawasdee is an area especially for children, with 4 mini rides including a mini replica of The Dragon! In the Lost City children of all ages can explore a maze of towers, bridges and nets to find waterfalls, fountains and small rides and slides.

Siam Beach is the perfect place for the whole family to relax and unwind. Or try and dodge a few waves in the fantastic wave pool! There are two beach bars to choose from, offering a range of international food. Head here to refuel before hitting the rides once again!

Aqualand

Widely regarded as one of the best family friendly attractions in Tenerife, Aqualand really does have it all. You can easily spend a full day here. Race down the Crazy Race slides, have a go at Multisurf, with 6 lanes to slide down, or face your fears on the Kamikaze – a choice of two almost vertical slides!

There are plenty of options for children too! They can race each other on Crazy Race Junior- a Castle themed ride with three slides, or enter the magical world of Forest Land, where trees have slides instead of branches!!!

For younger children there is plenty to do at Dragon Land, and they can even join Mum and Dad in the family wave pool!

Finish off a fantastic day with the daily award winning dolphin show. This is a real must see on your trip to Tenerife!

Ethnographic Park – Pirámides De Güímar

While archeologists and anthropologists contine to disagree about the origins of Tenerife’s own pyramids, there was little doubt in the mind of world famous Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, that they were built along similar lines of the ancient constructions in Peru, Mesopotamia and Mexico.

The step-pyramids pose many questions but the park and museum do not provide direct answers. Instead you are given a fascinating look at the history of the Guanche and are left to make your own mind up whether the pyramids could simply be the after effect of long ago farmers’ land clearance or perhaps an ancient and sacred place built in celebration of the summer solstice.

Loro Park

(Puerto de la Cruz, North Tenerife)

This fabulous Puerto de la Cruz attraction is a Thailand styled tropical paradise. It has the worlds largest parrot collection and unforgettable Dolphin Sea Lion & Parrot shows, as well as the world’s longest underwater ‘walkway’ tunnel (through a shark and fish filled aquarium). Tiger Island, Gorilla Jungle and the Bat Cave are just a few of the many attractions here.
